ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Acts as a positive and supportive leader to oversee nursing staff.
• Maintains lab records, maintenance of lab equipment ensures accuracy and reliability of lab results.
• Works with insurance carriers to initiate, submit, and follow through with patient referrals to specialists.
• Assures patients are worked up for provider visit timely and efficiently.
• Experience working with Athena EHR a plus.
• Familiar with and follows office policies and procedures.
• Ensures necessary patient medical information is available in the EHR prior to visit.
• Obtain accurate vital signs, efficiently document health history, reconcile medications.
• Perform phlebotomy and lab collection as needed. Prepares specimens for transport to performing labs appropriately.Accurately completes patient information on laboratory orders and forms.
• Administers medications by oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, inhaled routes as directed by provider. Accurately utilizes medical equipment as trained.
• Assists with procedures.
• Scan necessary documentation into EHR.
• Keep exam rooms and treatment areas well stocked and clean, per infection control policy and procedures.
• Reprocesses and sterilizes medical equipment per established policies and procedures.
• Actively participates in quality improvement projects.
• Assists in identification and evaluation of quality issues in the clinical setting.
• Protects/observes patient confidentiality per policies and procedures.
